Disney’s animated Cinderella first came out back in 1950. It’s crazy to think one of the core beloved princesses has been around for over 70 years! But when you think of the classic Disney princesses, my brain goes to Cinderella, Snow White, Ariel and Belle.
One of my favorite parts of the classic Cinderella story line though is not when the Prince falls in love with her. Its not when she lives happily ever after. My favorite part is when the Fairy Godmother comes to help Cinderella. To show her that there is always a way to get where you want to go. Even if its not the way you thought. And sometimes, that way requires a little bit of magic!
The older I get, the more I realize that magic really is all around us. Often times in the form of those who love us very much. They are the ones who make magic happen in our lives. Just like Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother, who loves Cinderella very much, made magic happy for her. And essentially gave her the path to make her dreams come true!
Lets make a fun and easy Cinderella inspired mocktail non alcoholic drink and make some magic for those we love so dreams can come true!
Ingredients
Blue Gaterade Frost
Lemon Lime Soda
White Sanding Sugar
Blue Striped Straw (These are the ones I used)
Whole Lemon for garnish
Martini Glasses (These are the ones I used from Amazon)
About the Ingredients
Blue Gatorade Frost is a blue sports drink made with carbohydrates and electoryles to help those who play hard refuel. Its also the perfect blue to match the beautiful dressk Cinderella wears to the ball thanks to her Fairy Godmother.
Lemon Lime Soda provides carbonation and a touch of citrus. Its clear coloring helps keep the perfect blue of the Gatorade Frost.
Recipe for Cinderella Inspired Mocktail
This is a very easy drink which is perfect to create a little magic for every little princess.
1)Rim each Martini Glass with White Sanding Sugar. Tip: Use a small lemon wedge around the rim of the glass and then dip into the sanding sugar. Gently tap the edge of the glass when done to remove any excess sugar.
2)Add Ice to glass
3)Add Blue Gaterade Frost to each martini glass until 3/4 full.
4)Top off with Lemon Lime Soda
5)Add Lemon Wheel Garnish to the rim of the glass.
6)Add Blue Striped Straw to each glass (Tip: you may have to trip the straws down slightly to fit in the martini glasses with kitchen scissors)
Garnish Tips
To make a Lemon Wheel Garnish, first wash the lemon. Carefully slice the end off a whole lemon. Then carefully slice a wheel off the cut end about a quarter inch in thickness. Add a small slit in the wheel to allow it to sit on the rim of the glass.
Enjoy!
