Toosie Roll candies have been around for a long time. Like for a long time as in well over 100 years. The iconic tootsie rolls not only have been around for a very long time, but that single delicious candy inspired an entire candy company! I personally had no idea tootsie rolls were that popular.
Part of their popularity can be attributed to their chewy almost taffy like texture yet taste of chocolate with maybe a hit of caramel as well. It was in a category of candy on its own.
Today, I can’t help but think of Halloween without thinking of tootsie rolls. Because that’s when I consume the majority of my tootsie roll intake for the year. And I’m not complaining! The variety of sizes make them easy to pick just how much of a sweet treat you want! I personally love the midgees because having a second (or third or fourth lets be honest) isn’t so bad when they are so small.
Now this Tootsie Roll shot recipe comes from a popular recipe with a little modification. Small modifications to help achieve the same delicious flavors that are created in the delicious chewy iconic candy. But it’s still very easy to make and a great excuse to grab a bag of tootsie roll candies outside of Halloween!

Choclate Vodka
Coffee LiqueurÂ

About the Ingredients
Chocolate Vodka starts with the typical distilled alcoholic beverage that is clear in color and without much flavor and adds the taste of rich chocolate.
Coffee Liqueur is a combination of both coffee and alcohol creating a taste that is a mixture of chocolate and coffee and occasionally with a hint of vanilla as well. Yum!
Although Orange Juice has fallen a little in popularity as a cocktail mixer, in part due to its strong flavor, just a small amount in these shots helps create that unique flavor and tastes of a toosie roll!
How to Make the Recipie
This recipe has the word easy right in the title because, well, it’s quite easy to make!
1)In a Cocktail Shaker add ice 1.5 oz Chocolate Vodka, 1.5 oz Coffee Liqueur, and .5 oz Orange Juice. Shake until well chilled and mixed
2)Pour into Shot Glasses
3)Add a Tootsie Roll Midgee to the rim of each shot glass.
Garnish Tips
Unwrap enough Tootsie Roll Midgees for each shot you are making. Carefully place a small slit in the middle of each midgee to all it to easily sit on the rim of the shot glasses. Easy peasy!
