Finding Dory Inspired Cocktail because no matter what we are going through, we have to just keep swimming.

In my last Finding Nemo inspired recipe, I discussed how Dory kinda stole the show. Well she stole the show so much that she got her own movie! Finding Dory is the Disney Pixar 2016 sequel to Finding Nemo. In this installment in the franchise, we get to follow Dory as she goes in search of finding her parents. And of course, she is joined by the family that she created, Marlin and Nemo.
As we follow the beloved blue fish on her quest to find her parents, we are, once again, faced with several life lessons. Dory is determined to find her parents despite others telling her she simply can’t. That she can only forget things. Dory is a role model to not let others tell you what you can and cannot do. As a parent, I hope I can instill this invaluable lesson in my growing children!
And of course Dory’s motto made famous in her first appearance on the big screen is still woven throughout the movie. Sometimes, when things get rough, we have to just keep swimming!
But I think my favorite new lesson in the Finding Nemo franchise, is to stop and enjoy the view. Sometimes, I get so caught up in preparing and planning for the future that I forget to stop and celebrate the current phase of life. I forget to enjoy the view of my family growing up! Both Marlin and Dory have experienced first hand just how fast life can forever change. And its a much needed reminder to slow down, and enjoy the view! Whatever view is right in front of you.
Grab the remote and some popcorn and lets learn to make a wonderfully adventurous Finding Dory Inspired Cocktail and settle into watching Nemo, Dory and Marlin on the big screen, And no matter what life throws our way, remember to enjoy the view and just keep swimming!
Ingredients and Barware for 2 Cocktails
Vodka
Blue Curacao
Lemonade
Yellow Sanding Sugar
Black Striped Straw (optional)
Cocktail Shaker

About the Ingredients
Vodka is a distilled alcoholic drink that is clear in color. It typically does not have much flavor and therefore is a very popular alcohol to infuse.
Blue Curaco derives its orangy taste from the dried leaves of the citrs fruit that is grown on the Island of Curaco. Despite its orange flavor, the liquor has a vibrant blue color, just like our main star of the movie and inspiration for this cocktail
Lemonade is a lemon flavored drink with added sweetness thanks to some sugar of course. Lemonade is a frequent standard item in a bar and its pale yellow color mutes our bright blue drink just right for Dory!
Finding Dory Inspired Cocktail Recipe
1)Rim your High Ball Glasses with Yellow Sanding Sugar. (I used a lemon to wet the rim and get the sugar to stick) Gently tap the glasses to remove any excess sugar. Add Ice and set aside
2)In a Cocktail Shaker, add ice and 10 oz Lemonade, 4 oz Vodka and 2 oz Blue Curaco. Shake vigorously until mixed and well chilled.
3)Pour over ice into rimmed high ball glasses
4)Add Black Striped Straw
Enjoy Responsibily!
