Let’s be honest. Some days are hard. Adulting can be hard. And it’s tiring and frustrating. And the other thing about being an adult, once you get there, there is no break, no turning back the hands of time. You are an adult forever. It’s funny how the different phases of life seem to change as we get older. As a kid, all I wanted to do was be an adult it seems. And now that I am here (and have been here for a tad longer than a hot minute) I do reminecess about being a kid.

But Peter Pan, you see, well he decided he would just not grow up. He just decided to stay happy and carefree for all time. Peter Pan and his band of lost boys spent their time fighting Captin Hook in the Jolly Roger, playing in their tree house, and, well just being kids. Enjoying the magic of childhood.

While there are days it would be appealing to go back to the “good old days” and enjoy the carefreeness of childhood. And this time I would enjoy it more because i would have the wisdom of years of experience to really understand the magic of being a kid. Ah, but if I went back to being a kid, well then I wouldn’t be able to enjoy this surprisingly delicious Peter Pan inspired Cocktail!

So lets all stay young at heart, always dance to the music and think only wonderful thoughts! If your looking to watch the new live action Peter Pan & Wendy movie, one of the older versions or just enjoy being young at heart, gather these ingredients, add a touch of pixie dust and make a delicious Peter Pan inspired Cocktail or two! Second Star to the right and straight on until morning!

Ingredients and Barware

1: 3oz Modori

2: 1.5oz Pineapple Juice

3: 2oz Malibu Rum

4: Gold Sanding Sugar for the Rim

5: Maraschino Cherry for the garnish

6: Vanilla Frosting (optional for the rim)

7: Martini glasses. Martini glasses are perfect for this themed cocktail because they look an awful lot like Peter Pan’s hat upside down.

8: Cocktail shaker

About the Ingredients

Modori is a sweet melon flavored liquor with a bright green appearance made in Japan. The bright green is just what we need for our guest of honor’s attire.

Pineapple Juice adds a hint of tropical flavors. It also takes that bright green down a tad to a more Peter Pan looking green.

Malibu Rum is a Caribean rum with a sweet coconut flavoring; often giving a tropical flavor

How to Make
  1. Take the rim of your martini glasses carefully through the vanilla frosting to get a consistent thin coating around the rim
  2. Dip the rim in the Gold Sanding Sugar. Add ice and set aside
  3. In a cocktail shaker, add ice and 3oz Modori, 1.5oz Pineapple Juice and 2 oz Malibu Rum. Shake vigeroulsy until well mixed and chilled
  4. Pour over ice into rimmed martini glasses
  5. Add Maraschino Cherry as garnish (to mimic the red feather sticking out of our hero’s cap)
