Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Inspired Shot for when you are sorry, not sorry!

Reese’s peanut butter cups are a delicious confection made with the perfect combination of peanut butter and smooth chocolate. First invented in 1928 by an old Hershey employee, the candy was a great success from the start. So much so in fact, the candy outsold all other candy lines within the Reeses Candy Comapy by such a large margin that they were all eventually discontinued. Leaving only the cherished peanut butter cup.
After Mr. Reese, the inventor of the delicious recipe, passed away, he left the Reese Candy Company to his sons. His sons later merged the company with the Hershey Candy Corporation. Which to me, just feels like the story coming full circle for Mr. Reese who started as a Hershey employee. And who used smooth Hershey chocolate in his peanut butter cups since the beginning.
Reese are one of the only kinds of candy that my brother will eat. (I know, how is he related to me? Someone who loves almost ALL kinds of candy!) But either way, we always had Reese in my house growing up as a result. And you better believe we had all different varieties! Tree shaped candies near Christmas time, pumpkin shaped near halloween. Miniatures, white cream Reeses, the big cups and of course Reese Pieces! Despite all the versions, the original is my favorite! I think the original ratio of peanut butter to chocolate is spot on making it my favorite! But given by brother’s severely limited sweet tooth, this Reese’s inspired shot was a must for him!

About the Ingredients
Chocolate liqueur is a base liquor with a distinct and often rich chocolate flavor, just what we need for the outer portion of our peanut butter cup shot
Peanut Butter Whisky is whisky made with peanuts and cane sugar. Although it may not sound great it is surprisingly delicious. And the perfect alcohol for our peanut butter cup inspired shot
Irish Cream is created using a blend of irish whisky and dairy cream to create a chocolatey yet vanilla taste. And helps to create that smooth texture that we know and love in a Reese’s peanut butter cup.
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Inspired Shot Recipe
1)Cut one Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup in half. Then carefully add a small slit into the middle on the cut end to allow the candy to sit on the rim of your glass.
2)Using Chocolate Sauce, carefully add a consistent line of the sauce on the rim of the Shot Glass (I put the line a tad inside the rim of the shot glasses so as the sauce ran and dripped, it just added extra chocolate to the shot vs an extra mess to clean!)
3)In a Cocktail Shaker add ice 2 oz Chocolate Liqueur, 2 oz Peanut Butter Whisky and 2 oz Irish Cream. Stir until well mixed and chilled.
4)Pour into rimmed shot glasses.
5)Add cut Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup to the rim.
