Margaritas are probably one of the drinks that we have the most often in our house. Probably because they pair so well with Mexican food. Which also makes a weekly appearance in our house. We typically have our standard lime margaritas. But when it’s summer time and we have fresh fruit around, it’s time to experiment! And the result is a deliciously refreshing strawberry margaritia!
Adding strawberries to the classic margarita recipe yields a sweeter version of one of our favorite drinks. Now when you make it frozen, it’s the perfect adult summer treat! And, bonus, no more wasted fresh fruit because you just couldn’t eat it fast enough before it goes bad! Which, as expensive as fruit has become lately really is kind of a big deal!
Make a frozen strawberry margarita with all those fresh strawberries for that sweetened version of a delicious margarita to pair with your favorite Mexican food for just a wonderful summer afternoon!
Ingredients
Tequila
Cointreau
Simple Syrup
Lime Juice
Strawberries (sliced for main recipe and garnish)
Lime Wheels (for garnish)
Sanding Sugar
Margarita Glasses (these are the ones I used)
Blender (This is the one I use for my frozen drinks)

About the Ingredients
Tequila is a lower calorie alcohol made from the blue agave plant primarily found in Mexico getting its name from the town of Tequila in Mexico. Tequila is really the star of a margarita!
Cointreau is an orange flavored liquore
Simple syrup is simply a mixture of equal parts water and sugar boiled until fully dissolved and slightly thickened. It is a staple ingreditent in most bars as its frequently used to sweeten cocktails without having issues of sugar dissolving fully in a cold drink
Lime Juice is a citrus fruit with a tart taste to balance out the alcohol. Fresh lime juice really adds to the freshness of this drink. But if you are in a pinch, the store bought juice is just fine!
