Toy Story’s Woody Inspired Cocktail

Toy Story’s Woody Inspired Cocktail Because you’ve got a friend in me

Howdy partner! Woody first made his big screen debut in 1995 as the leader of the residents of Andy’s room. And since that day, he has been a familiar name in any home to have a child between now and then. Everyone knows of the iconic lovable sheriff who would do anything for his owner and the rest of the toys who call Andy’s room their home.

As a big Disney and Pixar fan, the Toy Story franchise is extra special to me. I get a front row seat to watch my kids fall in love with the same characters I fell in love with all those years ago. And while that is not unique from a Disney Pixar standpoint, what is unique about the Toy Story franchise is I get to watch my kids fall in love with the same characters I did growing up. But also while getting excited for new additions to the Toy Story universe! From full length movies to holiday specials and even some fun tv shorts, the Toy Story gang seems to hit the big screen frequently!

Round up the whole gang and try this delicious recipe for our Woody inspired Cocktail. Orange in color to match our hero’s shirt with a brown sugar rim inspired by Woody’s iconic cowboy hat which adds a little extra sweetness. And a star shaped pineapple garnish because the sheriff wouldn’t be complete without his badge.

Ingredients and Barware for 1 Cocktail
  • 3 oz vanilla vodka
  • 4 oz of orange juice
  • 1 oz pineapple juice
  • Brown sugar (for the rim)
  • Pineapple (whole or cored) (for the garnish)
  • Blueberries (optional for garnish)
  • High Ball Glass
  • Cocktail Shaker

About the Ingredients

Vanilla Vodka is just what it sounds like, vodka that has been infused with vanilla beans which adds a hit of sweetness to the Vodka

Although Orange Juice has fallen in popularity as a cocktail mixer, its orange color and tastes mimics the orange of Woody’s shirt.

Pineapple Juice adds a hint of tropical flavors and helps turn the orange juice orange into a brighter orange to match Woody

How to Make

Rim highball glass with brown sugar.

Add ice to cocktail shaker and high ball glass

Add 3 oz vanilla vodka, 3 oz orange juice and 1 oz pineapple juice to shaker. Place cap and shake vigorously to cool the drink and ensure it is well mixed.

Pour over ice into highball glass

Garnish with Blueberries and Pineapple star

Garnish Tips

Start with a whole pineapple here or one that has already been cored. After cutting the outside away from the pineapple, slice a ring between 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch thick

Use a star cutter to cut out the star shape. If you don’t have a star cutter (like me) lightly score the shape of a star on the pineapple before cutting it out. This helped me visualize the star before cutting it out.

Add two blueberries to a cocktail garnish stick (or toothpick in a pinch). Then your cut pineapple star sheriff’s badge, followed by 2 more blueberries to really create a contrast with the badge and yet mimic Woody’s blue jean vest.
