Wreck It Ralph perimered in 2012 and it’s one of my favorites. There are a lot of things that make this movie appealing to a 90’s kid like myself. I enjoy finding all the nods to the games and characters I grew up with. The plot is adorable with a great lesson for young and not so young minds alike. And one of my favorite quotes comes from the Bad anon meeting. “There is no one I would rather be than me”. And lets not forget, it’s filled with CANDY and sweets!
Vanellope’s character is different from the typical animated leading female role of her time. She doesn’t care what the citizens think of her and she is blissfully optimistic about her abilities. Plus she can hold her own with a silly sense of humor which reminds me of another little lady who happens to live in my house.
Turn on Ralph and gather up the list of ingredients to make the best Wreck it Ralph watch party with a Vanellope Inspired Mocktail, a delicous non alcoholic drink in tribute of everyone’s favorite glitch. Sure to be the hack to take your Disney family movie night to the next level!
Ingredients
1.5 cups Hawaiian Punch Polar Blast
1/4 cup Pineapple Juice
About .5 cup Lemon Lime Soda (add to taste at the end)
Jolly Ranchers for the rim (optional)
Vanilla Frosting for the rim (optional)
Red Stripped Straws (optional, but really adds to the atmosphere of the theme, just watch out for those double stripes! I used these straws from Amazon)

About the Ingredients
Hawaiian Punch Polar Blast is filled with sweet tropical flavors, perfect to represent a game called Sugar Rush.
Pineapple Juice addes to the tropical taste of this drink and the when the yellow is mixed with the blue Hawaiian Punch, it create the perfect teal color to match our leading heronie, Vanellope’s sweatshirt.
Lemon Lime Soda provides a touch of citrus and a little carbination for a little extra fun
How to Make
1.Slowly drag the rim of your low ball glasses through the vanilla frosting to get a thin but consistent coating.
2.Dip in mashed up Jolly Rancher Candy to create the candy rim and set aside (see Garnish Tips Section for more guidance)
3.In a medium pourable container, add 1.5 cups of Hawaiian Punch Polar Blast and 1/4 cup of Pineeapple juice. Stir until well mixed.
4.Add ice to candy rimmed low ball glasses
5.Pour mixture into glasses
6.Top with Lemon Lime Soda
7.Add Red Striped Straws
Garnish Tips
Place unwrapped Jolly Rancher candy into a thick zip lock bag. Place the bag on top of several layers of dish towels. Use a meat tenderizer to slowly and carefully break up the Jolly Rancher candy into small pieces for the rim. (Tip: I found extra luck using the pointed side of the meat tenderizer. This did put holes in my bag so I had to be extra cautious during this process.)
Since I made these mocktails for kids, I used these plastic low ball glasses from Amazon. They worked perfectly to get the full effect of the theme, without the fear of my kids using glass!
Enjoy!
